Although not really a Gus User as such, Seal is responsible for launching Gus instruments on an unsuspecting public, when his 'Killer' video flashed across TV screens worldwide back in 1991. The instrument he used in the video was an 8 string bass prototype made from welded steel tube. This radical experimental instrument suited the vibe of the video perfectly (Killer was the first music video to be shot on 'blue screen' to enable it to use computer generated imagery). The 8 string bass was one of a small number of similarly constructed 'Guitube' instruments designed and built in the pre-Gus Guitars days and is now owned by Hard Rock Cafe and is on display in HRC Florida.
